Description | The paper presents chosen information and communication technologies (geographical information systems, global position system and interactive board), their place in education and curriculum and especially their usage in geography teaching. Geography, as a school subject that works with information is supposed to be the suitable subject for working with computer and using information technologies. The schoolrooms are accommodated with new didactic tools like computers, interactive board, data-projector, teaching programmes and teaching software. Using a potential of interactive table, geographical information systems and GPS, geography teachers have the opportunity to use modern information technologies and didactic tools and develop pupils geographical skills and knowledge with emphasis on their application in practice. This paper was elaborated within the research project MUNI/41/098/2009, Evaluation of Selected Map Skills Development Within the Use of Geo-information Technologies in Geography Teaching at Basic School, that is financially supported in 2009 by the Faculty of Education, MU. |
