| Description | The relationship between man and God becomes the theme of literary works after two waves of conversions of French intellectuals to catholicism in the turn of 19th and 20th century. According to Paul Claudel the Christian is bound to „put his talent into the service to God“. Marie Noel fulfilled this task in her poetry very well. This paper deals with three aspects of subjectivity in her work: 1/ an expression of her great desire to love and to be loved in contrast to the concept of death, 2/ uncertainty about her poetic work and 3/ the darkness of her faith. |
