Description Multiple myeloma is despite significant progress still incurable disease. Asymptomatic patients without bone lesion are usually observed without antimyeloma therapy. Therapy is instituted immediately at the symptomatic multiple myeloma, before irreversible organ damage. Younger patients below 65 yrs should udergo autologous stem cell transplantation in the end of initial therapy. Optimal therapy strategy is able to control several (3-5) disease activations during 5-10 years since starting therapy. Complex supportive therapy against expected disease complications is as important as antimyeloma therapy.
