Description | This work is a study on surface activation of polypropylene (PP) using Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge (DCSBD) at atmospheric pressure and on functionalisation of material by nanoparticles and ions absorption on the textile surface. Given the well known antimicrobial properties of gold and silver, we focused our research on the development of chemical groups on the PP surface with direct influence on the attachment of gold nanoparticles and silver ions. Wettability tests were performed in order to characterize the textile surface after plasma treatment. Also Laser Desorption Ionization Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry and Atomic Absorption Spectrometry measurements revealed more detailed information on the attachment of nanogold particles and silver ions bonding on the treated material. |
