Description | The aim of the paper is to offer the concept of delimiting basic notions used in the field of career counseling for discussion. Notions as: vocational guidance, career guidance, career counseling and lifelong guidance are currently being used not only at random without clear ties but also often mistaken and used as synonyms. The offered concept of delimiting notions mentioned above stems from theories which deal with given notions and influence current guidance practice (theory of Parsons, theory of Holland, theory of Super, system and constructivist theories). We have also considered the use of English notions, except from theories mentioned above: advising, guidance and counselling, the translation of which into Czech can significantly change the meaning of the notion career counseling itself. |
