Description | Central to the interest in quality of life (QOL) in this paper is research into the relationship between people and their everyday urban environments. The paper explains the geographical approach to research into urban quality of life in the city of Bratislava. Two exemplar case studies are employed to illustrate the application of the multidimensional geographical perspective in a changing real urban context. The first case study analyses the situation in the 1980s, while the second one concentrates on living conditions in the city at the beginning of 21st century. This study shows that in spite of some similarities there has been some shift in the quality of life in the intra-urban structure of Bratislava since 1980. |
