| Description | The paper starts from beginning of instrumental meteorological measurements in Europe. Basic methodology of work with documentary data is described including creation of temperature and precipitation index series. The recent state with climate reconstructions in Europe is characterised. Challenges of climate reconstructions in historical climatology are mentioned. The potential of historical climatology in the study of climate change is discussed. |
