| Description | The paper discusses importance of historical climatology for history. Historical climatology as a science is discussed, its documentary data for research and methodology are mentioned. The climate paradigm of the past millennium is presented. Several exmaples of applications of historical climatologial knowledge in historical research for the study of climate impacts are stated. Perspectives of future development of historical climatology are characteristed. |
