Description | The historical part of the monograph Health Care of Brno Population in 18th and 19th Centuries describes the development of Brno health service in the period in question including health institutions, best known physicians, forms of education, and medical treatment possibilities in Brno being one of important industrial towns in the Austrian monarchy. Direct evidences of diseases are presented in the medical anthropological part resulting from an examination of skeletons found at four archaeological sites in Brno, at the St. Peter and Pauls Cathedral, at the cemetery of Merciful Brothers Hospital in Old Brno, at the cemetery in front of Veselá brána (Merry Gate) (at the corner of Žerotín Square and Jošt Street) and at the Municipal Cemetery near the Little New (Kounic) Street. |
