| Description | The book maps the development and current practice in the field of psychotherapy. It complements existing books surveying psychotherapy on the Czech market, as it provides up-to-date information on psychotherapeutic modalities and psychotherapy in Czech and international contexts. Leading representatives of individual modalities from the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic were invited to write its chapters. Case studies of five therapists and their mutual comments on each others’ work are included. Among other topics discussed are: the situation in psychotherapy in Europe, working with emotions, body work, narrative, psychotherapy in medicine and social rehabilitation, combining psychotherapy and medication, payments, ethics, Eastern and other cultural influences, research on effectiveness, expressive therapy, alternative therapy. The editors are Zbyněk Vybiral and Jan Roubal. Vybiral is the former editor-in-chief of Konfrontace, and the current editor-in-chief of Psychoterapie. He is Associate Professor and Head of the Psychology Department at FSS MU, where he founded its Master’s degree in psychotherapy studies. Dr. Jan Roubal is a training lecturer, psychotherapist, supervisor and lecturer at FSS MU. |
