| Description | The paper presents an overview of instrumental meteorological observations in the Czech Lands. Air temperature and precipitation fluctuations for Prague-Klementinum and Brno are shown as well as fluctuations of global, Northern and Southern Hemisphere temperature series with respect to global warming. Documentary evidence available for the climate reconstruction of the past 500 years is mentioned. Exmaples of cultural history of the climate in the Czech Lands are presented. Global warming as a new challenge is discussed. |
