Description Study deals with temperature regime of small suburban brook(catchment 30km2,length 11.5km).Spring and downstream parts is forested and have natural character, middle part flows through intensively used land(regulated unshaded channel).3 sites situated in spring, middle and downstream part of stream were studied.Water temperature was measured every 20minutes for 1year using dataloggers.Remarkable differences in monitored parameters(mean, minimum and maximum temperatures, amplitude)and their circadian, monthly and annual courses were found.Comparison of 3 study sites showed that degraded middle part was characterised by earlier onset of high temperatures in early summer and by higher daily maximum temperatures that were recorded later in day.Unshaded middle reach was warmer especially in first half of year(in degrees of C)and its altered temperature regime influenced 3.5km far downstream natural reach, where increased water temperatures and caused shifts in daily course of temperature(maxima).
