Description | The article focuses on the characterization of the identity of the non-democratic regime in Post-Soviet Belarus, namely the regime of A. Lukashenka. The aim is to apply Juan Jose Linz classical theory of non-democratic regimes to Belarusian situation in the last decade of the 20th century and to evaluate the limits (and convenience) of that application with regard to a search for an exact classification of this regime. In this sense, the text offers an empirical-analytical analysis of contemporary Belarusian political system, based on standard theoretical approaches of the theory of non-democratic regimes. |
