Description | In the article the test of so-called recalibrated glottochronology is applied to Modern Greek in comparison with Tsakonian dialect, Classical Greek, and Mycenaean. The comparison of Ancient Attic and Modern Greek confirms the dating 450 BC of their divergence. The divergence of Attic and Tsakonian was estimated to the 18th cent. BC, i.e. very closely to the dating of their predecessors, Ionic-Attic and Doric-Northwest Greek, by A. Bartoněk. |
