| Description | In our contribution, we would like to answer three questions: first, what is the position of Louise Desjardin in the Canadian French society at the turn of the 21st century. Our aim was, among others, to try to determine Louise Desjardins position in this environment, introduce the reception of her works not only by the Quebec audience. The second issue we concentrate on is the author s perception of the contemporary Quebec society. LD concentrates especially on family relations, on woman s status in the family, on the attempts to reach personal independence of a woman who wants to love and at the same time be loved. In this sense, we will introduce several heroines in the author s works. Finally, we will try to present the characteristic features of LD s style of writing.
