Description | This essay discusses the basis of the current crisis in civilisation. It is argued that the basis of this crisis is an ontical conflict between the anti-natural contemporary culture and the Earth. We cannot, however, uncover the character of the conflict using traditional scientific rationality, instead we require the help of philosophical rationality that is evolutionarily ontological. A solution to the crisis thus presupposes a change in the cultural system brought about by a transformation of the dominant spiritual paradigm of culture into one that is biophile. Only in this way can the spiritual and material culture, the economy, technology, science, upbringing, education, and politics be transformed. In the context of this change there will also occur a rehabilitation of the critical function of human reason. The renewal of its specific function of self-preservation must also concern a true systematic knowledge of the relation of nature and culture, as well as the role of natural sciences in culture, including the task of contemporary school education and education of the citizen. |
