| Description | The global economic crisis which first became during 2008 affected all regions of the Czech Republic (including the South Moravian Region). Opinions differ on its causes, the appropriateness of selected measures and further development but there is consensus over the fact that it is a determining factor that will influence the development of economy at least in the next few years. This paper describes the most significant impacts of the crisis on the industry of the South Moravian Region which has still a crucial importance in the regional economy. It mainly deals with the present changes in employment during the crisis and impacts of the economic recession on the functioning of the most important industrial companies. |
