| Description | This paper explains the definition of bio-waste and its position towards biodegradable municipal waste and deals with possibilities of separate collection and managing with bio-waste, which is one of the main components of integrated waste management systems. Furthermore it describes two studies on collection and managing with bio-waste in two different Central European cities (Brno, Bratislava). Finally it concludes, that available waste treatment facilities are not sufficient for the whole production of bio-waste in considered cities. |
