Description | The knowledge on the thermodynamic behaviour of the Al-Ni-Zn system is useful from the point of view of lead-free soldering. Preliminary thermodynamic prediction of phase equilibria for this system may be performed on the base of existing assessments for binary subsystems. Only limited experimental information can be found in the literature. Differential scanning calorimetry was used for specification of temperature regions for long term annealing of prepared samples and for determination of temperatures of phase transformations. The microstructure was studied and quantified mostly by means of scanning electron microscopy. |
