Description | This methodology describes how to determine cross-country mobility of wheeled vehicle (speed deceleration factor of the exact soil type) in various terrain and geographical conditions by recording and evaluation of a set of measured data according to the NIMA model, which is based on the inclusion of soils types into different groups according to the unified soil classification standard in NATO. The methodology is based on the determination of the index of vehicle mobility TMI according to STANAG 4307/AVTP-1 01-80. TMI allows to predict the vehicle cross-country mobility in a lower strength terrain. Comparison of TMI values with the vehicle cone index of VCI allows to predict the movement ability of vehicle or vehicles in the column in terrain, where we know soil characteristics, expressed in an index or penetration CI. |
