Description | This paper shows by the segmental analysis of five extant fragments of Anaximander’s zoogony and athropogony that Aetius‘ fragment on zoogony (almost generally considered as the most trustworthy hitherto) is compound of segments which come under the field of anthropogony – i.e. Aetius‘ fragment doesn’t bring scarcely any information about Anaximander’s zoogony in fact. The complicated problem of the relation between Anaximander’s zoogony and anthropogony is solved paradoxically in this way: we have total lack of accounts on zoogony without Aetius‘ fragment. |
