| Description | The example of the literary brotherhood in Jaroměřice depicts the functional change of this type of religious corporations in 16th–19th century. The key aspect of the study is the antagonism between the anticipated meaning of the term ‘musical institution’ (a reproduction body) and its real function, which lay within the funerary sphere. Thus a seemingly exclusively musicological topic may present an important complex of questions related to early-modern culture in general. |
