| Description | The article deals with a relationship between an optimism and a human health. It presents the bioecopsychosocial model of health and three theoretical streams of optimism/pessimism: dispositional optimism (Carver, Scheier), optimism as an explanatory style (Peterson, Seligman) and defensive pessimism (Cantor, Norem). Concluding part is dedicated to a link between optimism and physical well-being. Author presents a design and aims of the research Cognitive determinants od health-supportive behavior (GA ČR, n. 406/09/0611) which is elaborated in the team Dosedlová, Slováčková, Klimusová, and Kebza. Main results are expected in 2011. |
