Description Overview and critically commenting study observes ways to establishment of new branch, lifespan development psychology, which leads up to synthesis that bridges and integrates biological, sociocultural, and person-centered approaches. Modern developmental systems take synthesis of wholes, activity, organization, changes and nonlinearity as part of its principles. Some useful possibilities of consilience in lifespan development psychology are foreshadowed: approaches to development research, biological and sociocultural sources of intellect processes, age related changes of adaptive strategies, continuity and consistency of own experience, imbodiment and selfing, timing principle. Synergetics also opens up new approaches to self-organization.
