Description | A couple of adult syngamid nematode parasite were found during routine clinical observation from sputum of Pongo pygmaeus abelli and determined as Mammomonogamus laryngeus (Railiet, 1899). This finding confirmed previous record of syngamid nematodes determined as Mammomonogamus sp. only Collet et al (1981) in faeces of orangutans kept in the Bohorok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre (Northern Sumatra, Indonesia) and presented a serious health hazard to rehabilitants in this locality. |
