| Description | The aim of this tudy is to inform about a new characterization of visual cognitive style and about new questionnaire to measure preferences for object and spatial forms of mental imagery. Paivio (1971) and Richardson (1977) proposed (characterized) that imagery is an undifferentiated, unitary construct. However, considerable cognitive and neuroscience research suggest the existence of two distinct object and spatial imagery subsystems that encode and process visual information in different ways. A new self-report instrument, the Object-Spatial Imagery Questionnaire (OSIQ), was designed to assess individual differences in visual imagery preferences and experiences. OSIQ has been proposed by Blajenkova et. al. In the present studies we examined the psychometric properties of the Czech version of the OSIQ. The OSIQ seems to be a very promising and valuable tool for psychological research, OSIQ is a useful tool for measuring preferences for different type of visualization. |
