Description | Etiology of lichen planus is unknown. White reticular pattern, annular lesion, erosion or blister can be seen in oral cavity as a clinical manifestation of lichen planus. Treatment is symptomatic. Up to date, there is no specific treatment although many medications have been suggested (tacrolimus, cyclosporine A, anti-TNF-alpha, ect.). Malign potential is still controversial. This review presents basic clinical and pathological aspects, diagnostics, treatment, and prognosis of lichen planus oralis. |
