Description | When sociologist of religion theorize about secularization, they can speak about a couple of cognate terms: the concept of secularization, secularization thesis, secularization theory, secularization paradigm and secularization narrative. These words are not synonyms and we should distinguish between their meanings. The main goal of this paper is to outline some basic features of the secularization debate in modern sociology of religion and reflect openly on the status of the notion of secularization in current debates. |
