Description | Infection of the aortofemoral prosthetic bypass is a serious and feared complication in vascular surgery. One of the options of its treatment is a replacement of the graft using autogenous superficial femoral vein. Femoral vein is an ideal autologous material with high resistance to infection that also meets the diameter requirement for aorto-ilio-femoral position. In comparison with others, this method has very good long-term results with a low rate of recurrent infection, graft occlusion, limb amputation and venous morbidity. |
