Description Psychosocial problems of children with a history of treatment of malignancy are the most serious health problems in addition to the effects of anticancer therapy. In the present study are presented data from the project "qolop" prospective longitudinal study of children's quality of life after treatment náVýzkumné cancer study (Quality of Life Longitudinal Study of Pediatric Oncology Patients). They analyzed data from 91 former cancer patients (44 boys and 47 girls) aged 9-19 years, which was compared with a group of children from elementary and secondary schools in South County. Analyses were performed separately for younger (9-12 years) and older (13-19 years) age group. The authors focus on the widest range of quality of life. Former patients were administered a questionnaire MMQL (Minnesota-Minneapolis Quality of Life Instrument), and other methods by which the authors investigated the participation in normal daily activities, relationships between children and parents, and emotional well-being expressed in terms of depressive symptoms. Children after cancer treatment reported less involvement in social activities (both age groups) and impaired physical performance (younger children), on the other hand, better relationships with parents (both age groups) and a lower rate of depression, better cognitive performance and greater overall life satisfaction (older children).
