Description | Czech and Moravian society at the turn of 19th and 20th centuries was influenced by two ambivalent processes – the Enlightenment and the National Revival. The Enlightenment was not a unified ideological process. It can be divided into distinct time periods and differentiated by the various social groups that endorsed its ideas. Czech National Revival was not an isolated event, but formed part of the process constitutive of modern European nations. The work focuses on three key figures – Josef Dobrovský, Bernard Bolzano and Josef Jungmann. |
