Description | Elections in Ancient Rome are very interesting legal and historical topic. The sources describe us a lot of details about quotidian political life of Ancient Rome that is similar to nowadays politics. Already in Antiquity, there were lobbing and bribery as it is illustrated by numerous electoral laws regulating “unfair play” in politics. Even for modern legislator, these laws are a good example how to restrain unfair pre-electoral and electoral practices. |
