Description | Nanoparticles have high portion of the free surface to its volume. This leads to differences between properties of the nanoparticles and the bulk sample with the same chemical composition. AgSn nanoparticles (silver content close eutectic composition 3.5wt%) were prepared by wet synthesis from silver and stannous precursors by reduction with NaBH4 in temperature range from 0 to -20stC in nonqueous solvent under an inert atmosphere. The size and shape of the synthesized SnAg nanoparticles were characterized with electron microscopy (TEM, SEM). In order to get new information about the phase diagram of the Sn-Ag nanoalloy the DSC calorimeter STA409 was used. Experimental results were compared with both phase diagram of the bulk alloy and predicted diagram of nanoalloy. The size depending Sn-Ag phase diagrams were obtained using calculations based on CALPHAD approach. |
