Description | The accession to the European Union encompassed a fundamental change for the Czech Republic in the area of private international law and procedure. Until then, private international law tended to be a domain of national laws. This area was only marginally affected by international agreements to which the Czech Republic was a party. The accession to the European Communities meant “full accession” to the existing “European Area of Justice” . EU legislation became the primary and determining regulation in a number of areas of private international law. The chapter of the book explains the relation between three levels of legal regulation, e.g. national regulation, european regulation and international bilateral and multilateral agreements. |
