| Description | An effort to find the pathophysiological nature of the disease, which could define the most convenient therapeutical strategy for the patients, has been lasting since 1956, when the first case of toxic epidermal necrolysis was described. Unfortunately, even nowadays we are unable to treat patients with toxic epidermal necrolysis reliably. Out overview is outlined as a cross-section of basic pathophysiology of the toxic epidermal necrolysis and current possibilities of its treatment. A discovery of a reliable medical product, which would be sufficiently effective to stop the progression of the diasease without a burden of serious adverse effects, is one of the greatest chellenges currently. |
