| Description | The paper deals with the institute of good faith and good manners and their role in consumer law, particularly in view of the interpretative problem of § 56 subsection 1 of the Civil Code, namely in connection with prohibited terms in consumer contracts. The general introduction is followed by the concrete practical problems. Finally, the good faith and good manners in consumer law are discussed from a comparative perspective in relation to the implementation of the european directions on the consumer protection. |
