Field Earth magnetism, geography
Keywords Congress of the Czech Geographic Society – dualism – geography – reflection
Description Congress of the Czech Geographical Society is a key event reflecting the status and trends of Czech geography. Paper reviews it by prism of doctoral students of geographical disciplines through the theme of duality, dichotomy, binary pairs separated by the desired range, which we regard as characteristic of contemporary Czech geography. We discuss overcoming dualities through examples of topics traditionally polarized between the physical and human geography (landscape, agriculture), the conceptualization of time and in the context of geographical education. We do not see the solution in new methods and topics, but rather in the new ways of thinking about current issues.
