The authors came to the conclusion that there is evidential relationship (alpha = 0,05) between the development of world and Olympic records in period 1896 - 2004. Furthemore, the authors describe the differencies between the parties finals runs OG (in historical period of the Games division into 3 periods: 1896 to 1928, 1932- 1976, 1980 - 2004), tend to greater homogenity (differences in achievements between 1st - 3rd, 1st - 6th, 1st - 8th racer over time significantly dimished). Recent findings discribed in the text answers the question on which continent it is realistic to look for the most finalist in the 800m and 1500m race in each Olympic cycle.
