Description | The chapter concentrates on the curricular reform of vocational education in the Czech Republic. The main focus lies in the problems of implementing curriculum into practice in schools. In the chapter, findings of a research project are presented, that consisted of a series of structured interviews with headmasters, SEP coordinators and teachers at pilot secondary vocational schools. Concerning the support that schools expect in connection with the reform, pilot-school teachers perceive the following problems: lack of monetary resources to support teaching, deficiencies in the coordination of in-service teacher education, inadequacies in informing the public and especially the parents, unclear role that various institutions are to play in realising and evaluating the curricular reform, unceasing changes in educational policies and deficiencies in the content of the Framework Educational Programme. |
