Description | The Polish-Hungarian nobleman Count Maurice August Benyovszky was a real, historical figure. He was born in 1746 in Vrbové – a small village near Piestany which today is in Slovakia but was, then, a part of the Austrian Empire. The contribution analyses the issues of the intolerance of state institutions in contrast to personal tolerance as they were presented in the final part of his Memoirs. There are also explanations for some hidden reasons for this auto-presentation. |
