Description The contibution brings the results of the author's dissertation research. It dealt with the attitudes and expressions of the German population to the Czechoslovak minority education in the district of Usti nad Labem in the early years of the Czechoslovak Republic. To solve this point was approached a qualitative survey. Specificcaly the historical research methods. In particular, the direct and indirect methods and historical-comparative method. Archival documents were the main sources of information. They were stored in the Town archives of of Usti nad Labem. The contribution shows on the one hand, what attitude occupied the German population to Czechoslovak minority education, on the other hand the contribution shows also the different levels of expression of these attitudes such as school strikes and official obstruction.
