Description | This paper presents results of a field research focused on the concept of clarity in educational communication which took place at a secondary schools (ISCED 2A) and during which classes of Czech language and literature where observed. The paper relies on qualitative methodology and presents a case study of a teacher of Czech language who teaches the same subject matter in two separate classes. The paper futher examines which clarifying strategies pupils use, how they react to her explanation of the subject matter, how they comment on it, and ho the teacher responds to their questions and comments in an effort to establish mutual understanding. |
