Description | The research text gives an alternative viewpoint of the topic of War Conflicts of the 20th century in the teaching of history in primary school – a topic imparted to schoolchildren by the media outside school independently of the teacher, primarily in the form of films. It emphasises the importance of the film media in shaping the child’s historical awareness. It also notes the need for developing the child’s skills in analysing the media message encoded into war films. It offers methodical support to school teaching with the use of suitable examples, which can help to elucidate this conflict for schoolchildren with details that are not confined exclusively to the front lines, and help them understand contemporary propaganda by depicting the mechanisms it employs. |
