Description | On-line Video Player is an integrated software that allows playing digital internet video on a local computer. It can be accessed via regular internet browser with internet access to a server with movie content. This software provides easy end-user control including video windows size changes and moving. It provides three new types of features among other video players which are based on results of modern information system development at Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University. First, it contains advanced access rights managements including integrated access to study materials inside the Masaryk University Information System. For example, if a teacher wants to narrow access to a video file only to students of his course, the player will disallow playing this video by other users. A teacher may also enable or disable downloading and saving video file in different formats. The second set of features represents saving video by a content provider. A teacher can upload a video file in almost any format an allow its playing. System automatically converts this file into demand format and sets its access rights. Sharing video with On-line Video Player is therefore easy for all users with basic computer skills. This part of player is fully integrated into Masaryk University Information System. The last group of abilities allows higher protection against unauthorized video saving. On-line Video Player implements several advanced features so that saving video file becomes very difficult. |
