Description This utility model describes a modification of properties of the artificial OECD/ISO soil for testing ecotoxicity of persistent organic pollutants. This modification is based on soil sterilization. The modified artificial soil is suitable for the testing, complies to standards and provides the results of worst-case-scenario. Sterilization causes that microorganisms present in the artificial soil (mostly in peat) do not degrade bioavailable fraction of pollutants and they are bioavailable to other soils organisms (e.g. invertebrates).
