| Description | The purpose of the retrospective study was to evaluate the efficacy of strabismus surgery in adult patients operated at Children's Eye Clinic in Brno between 1992 and 2005. In a group of 257 patients with a mean age of 32.6 years, we observed the size deviations of various types of strabismus, diplopia, tilt head with paralytic strabismus, incidence of refractive errors , the occurrence of amblyopia and quality binocular function before and after surgery. Comparison of the average deviations for all types of strabismus in the file shows a statistically significant improvement in the position of the eyes postoperatively. When evaluating binocular vision after surgery was seen not only induce binocular vision, but also improving the quality of binocular functions. Adult strabismus surgery is not just cosmetic surgery, but may induce or improve binocular function of the patient. |
