Description | Windthrow is a result of complex interactions between natural and anthropogenic factors. Its occurrence is influenced by a number of climatic, topographic, physical, soil, biological and, to a certain extent, also anthropogenic factors. This paper describes different means of windthrow risk assessment through multidimensional statistical methods with emphasis on the topographic exposure which after further processing yields the MAXTOPEX factor. The models are created on the source data of windthrow locations in Šumava National Park after the Kyrill windstorm in January 2007. |
