Description | Myxozoa infect various organs in vertebrate hosts and can be split into two groups according to the site of infection. Coelozoic species replicate in the cavities of body organs (gall bladder, urinary tract, renal corpuscles etc.) whereas histozoic species are intercellular in various tissues (liver, skin, kidney, testes). To determine the diversity of myxozoan parasites, we dissected 234 fishes belonging to the 7 species. |
