Office for Studies

Office for studies at individual faculties provide study administration, counselling, admissions and many other activities related to study. They help university students to deal with study issues related to the start, progress and completion of their studies.

For foreign students, this service is provided by the Faculty International Office at some faculties.

Faculty advisors are representatives of the MU Student Advisory Centre at individual faculties. They either provide counseling directly or direct you to the right place on and off campus to get your question resolved as quickly as possible.

All faculty advisors are available on a shared email list, so direct your questions to poradenstvi@muni.cz.

Ombuds

You can contact the University-wideRights Protection Office if you think your rights or someone else's have been violated, or if you don't know where to go.

The Ombuds will discuss your case with you and advise you on how to proceed. The Ombuds does not report to anyone and is not bound by any instructions. She acts impartially, objectively, confidentially and confidentially when investigating your case.

Faculty counselling

Programme guarantor

The programme guarantors are responsible for the course of teaching in each programme. They ensure the running of the teaching of the whole field, solve any problems arising in connection with the teaching. Contacts are listed on the department/institute websites and can also be found in the Programmes catalogue in the IS MU.

Course guarantor

Course guarantors are responsible for the course of teaching the subject. They ensure the teaching process of the course, determine its content and solve any problems arising in connection with the teaching of their subject. The contact details are listed in the course syllabus in the MU Information System, or you can use the Browse Catalogue in the MU IS.

Teacher

Teachers guide the student through the learning process. They provide teaching, conduct lectures, seminars and exercises, and provide professional information. Contacts can be found on the teachers' personal pages in the MU Information System.

The head of the department

The head of the department manages the running of the department or institute. Contacts are listed on the department or institute websites.

Vice-dean for studies

The Vice-dean for studies is the Dean's representative in the field of student affairs. You can meet with the Vice-dean for studies to deal with an unusual study situation, for example, if you are applying for an exemption. You can usually find the contact details and consultation hours of the Vice-dean for studies on the website of the Office for Studies.

Contact person (sexual harassment agenda)

One female and one male faculty member are available at each faculty as contact persons in case of sexual harassment. The contact persons provide counseling to victims, witnesses, and accused of sexual harassment. They have attended a workshop on communicating with these individuals and are thoroughly familiar with the process of handling such a case within MU. A contact person will listen to you, introduce you to the tools of assistance available within and outside the university, depending on your specific situation, and give you an overview of the MU resolution process. This could help you make an informed decision about how to handle your situation. If you wish to refer your case for resolution within MU, the contact person is available to help you with this.

Career Centre

The MU Career Centre supports MU students and alumni on their path to career satisfaction in their future and current careers.

The Teiresias Centre – Support Centre for Students with Special Needs

The Centre's task is to ensure the accessibility of courses for students with visual, hearing and mobility impairments. It also provides support for students with specific learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, autism spectrum disorders or chronic illness.

Office for Studies of the Rector's Office

The Department provides services related to studies at Masaryk University at the university-wide level, namely in the area of studies in bachelor's and master's degree programmes (including admission procedures, course of studies and management of information about studies), in study matters in lifelong learning and in the area of fees related to studies, as well as administers the administration of accreditation of bachelor's and master's degree programmes and lifelong learning programmes.

Language Centre

The Centre provides university-wide teaching of foreign languages in non-philological fields of MU in all forms and levels of higher education. Individual faculty departments of the Centre provide students with professional and academic level education in English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Latin, and Czech language courses are organised for foreign students.

IS-technician, E-technician

IT service

IT support is provided locally at faculties and departments by the IT centres. The central point of contact for IT support is the IT ServiceDesk at MUNI, which directly solves or delegates your requests to the relevant experts, every working day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Before contacting ServiceDesk, however, try to see if your question is answered on the MUNI IT website.
