About us
The European Geography Association (EGEA) is an organization of geography students from almost 100 cities in more than 30 countries across Europe in terms of sharing and exchanging geographical knowledge and experience. It brings together young geographersin an atmosphere of respect, inclusion, volunteering, non-formal mutual learning and personal development, which inspires a global understanding of environmental and social processes and enables a positive impact on society. As an association, it empowersyoung geographers and supports their active participation in decision-making processes at European, national and local levels. This organization was founded in 1988 by three original entities – Barcelona, Warsaw and Utrecht. Today, it operates at more than 90 universities across Europe. These individual university groups are called "entities" and participate in the organization of congresses, seminars, exchanges and other educational or scienceprograms. The participation of all is purely voluntary and the whole organization works only on the principle of "students to students". EGEA was founded here in Brno in 2010 and since then it has been very active on a national and international level, where it has already built up a very good reputation. Our goal is to offer personal development opportunities to young geographers and enable them to fulfill their potential as young scientists. If you are studying geography and the school desks are small for you, then you are looking for us and we are looking for you!
